We began new Math centers this week. There are 6 new activities that review 5 and some more, number partners 1-10, and teen numbers. We also celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday and went to the Valentine Theatre!
5 and Some More game. Students roll a die to add more counters to the 5 frame of stickers. Then they have to show the equation using number cards.
Similar game- However, the 10 frame position has changed from one vertical tower to a horizontal positon. Students show the total using a number card.
Ten and some more.
I include graphing in every new math cycle.
5 and Some More with recording sheet. Most groups need help with this station. It is made to be challenging.
Showing teen numbers using colored tiles. Students explain " I made 13. 13 is 10 and 3 more"
Math mountains to show number partners up to 10. Students do a set of 5 then show me their work before they can do another set.
Miss Beard read a few Dr. Seuss stories and we made Cat in the Hat hats!
We also finished up a few fun 100th day activities. Students brainstormed here and then wrote their sentence idea with an illustration.
